Pre War

Born in 1890 at Church End, Redbourn son of George and Elizabeth (Collins) Brown, 68 Church End, Redbourn, Herts, and christened in Redbourn on 5 Oct 1890.



He married Lucy Owers, of Vale House, Pleshey, Chelmsford in Watford on 7 Jun 1915. He was a stableman.

Wartime Service

Initially enlisted Private 8596 Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers in London on 11 Jun 1906 and transferred to the Army Reserve on completion of his service on 23 Dec 1912 having served in Crete, Malta and China.



At the start of the war he was mobilised to the British Expeditionary Force on 6 Aug 1914 at Omagh, Co Tyrone and served in France from 22 Aug 1914 until 29 Apr 1915 when he returned to England.



He was discharged no longer physically fit for war service on 14 Oct 1915 and died of tuberculosis at home five months later.

Additional Information
