Pre War

Born in Northfleet, Gravesend, Kent in 1891. In the 1911 census he was a footman and living with his parents and sister in Upton Road (today Coopers Road), Little Heath.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Westminster while resident in Little Heath. The 8th Battalion was formed from men volunteering in September 1914. Landed in France, 31 August 1915. Died of wounds 9 November 1915. Probably injured during the Battle of Loos and died in No.4 General Hospital.
