Born on 8 May 1890 in Newport Pagnell son of Thomas James and Caroline Coulson later of Welwyn, Hertfordshire.


Educated at the Royal Masonic School 1900-07 and became a cashier in the Alliance Assurance Company.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at London on 6 Aug 1914, made a corporal during his training he entered France on 4 Nov 1914 and was killed in action in the Second Battle of Ypres shortly after his promotion to Sergeant.
