His parents married 1875 at Dudley Registry Office, Staffs.  William died 1935 in the Watford district aged 83.

Frederick was born 12 January 1892 in Bushey, Herts, and baptised 4 May 1894 at St Matthew’s, Oxhey, Herts.  He resided in Watford.

On the 1901 Census, aged 9 he lived in Oxhey, with his parents and four siblings.  On the 1911 Census, a Private in the 1st Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment aged 20, he was stationed at Longmoor Camp, East Liss, Hants.

He enlisted in Bedford, and was formerly Drummer 9351 Bedfordshire Regiment.

He was entitled to the Victory, British War and 1914 Star medals, his qualifying date being 6 October 1914, and was killed in action in Palestine.

Additional Information

Unfortunately, Frederick’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.

His brother William died 21 July 1916 and also features on Watford Borough Roll of Honour.
