Pre War

Born on 16 May 1891 and baptised on 3 Jun 1891 in Wellington, Madras, India son of William Henry and Eliza Jane (Abraham) Dyer later of 42 St. John's Street, Bedford. His father was Colour Sergeant and Instructor in the Army and they returned to England before Arthur was 3 and lived in 1901 in the Drill Hall, Amwell End, Ware where there was a flat for the instructor. Husband of Eliza J. Dyer.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Hertford and in 1911 he was serving in Bermuda with the Bedfordshires. He entered France on 6 Oct 1914 and died of wounds probably in hospital in Grevillers.

Additional Information

Brother of Private William Charles Dyer who was killed in action on 25 Oct 1914 in France.
