Photographing Cemeteries & Memorials

It is important for our commemoration of the Hertfordshire men and women that, where possible, we include photographs, ideally of the man or woman, but where that it is not possible their headstone or memorial inscription. We also want general photographs of the relevant cemetery or memorial, this gives context to the man or woman’s commemoration, especially for family who may not be able to visit.

If you can help by taking photographs while on a battlefield tour or holiday, please do so. Below you will find links to countries and cemeteries/memorials that are needed. If you think that you may be able to take photographs of headstones, then please contact jontywild@hertsatwar.co.uk as we can supply details laid out in a logical sequence, which will speed up the process of locating them.

In the following links a ‘0’ under the ‘Photo Stock?’ heading indicates that we do not have any photographs and ‘1’ indicates that we do have at least one (more would be appreciated, especially if it is good weather), but that does not necessarily mean that we have photos of the headstones or memorial names so please ask.
