Born on 27 Nov 1892 in New Malden, Surrey son of Richard Henry and Florence Anna (Harvey) Tillyer of Marston Gate, Brockenhurst, Hampshire and baptised on 11 Jan 1893 in Kingston upon Thames. Educated at Haileybury College 1907-10.

Wartime Service

Entered France in Aug 1914 with the British Expeditionary Force. Reported wounded and missing near Ypres.
