Born in 1891 in Ilford, Essex son of Henry and Selina Stenning of 16 Norfolk Road, Seven Kings, Ilford, Essex. He was a bank clerk and was living as a boarder in Huntingdon in 1911. He worked in the Hertford branch of the bank.

Wartime Service

Enlisted formerly 1464 Private Hertfordshire Yeomanry and entered Egypt on 5 Nov 1914. He then obtained a commission in R. F. A. on 30 Apr 1917 and was killed in action in France.

His brother Leslie Gerald Stenning also fell.
