Pre War
Born in 1886 son of Thomas and Hannah Tolfts and was baptised on 14 Nov 1886. He married Caroline Amelia (Richardson) Tolfts on 7 Aug 1905 in Great Hormead and was living in The Half Acre, Great Hormead, Buntingford, Herts. 1911 as a farm labourer. Then they lived in Hare Street in 1915 with four children.
Wartime Service
Enlisted on 11 Dec 1915 and was mobilised on 9 Jan 1917 at Bedford, Herts. Embarked for France at Folkstone on 6 Aug 1917.
