Born in Hertford in 1891 son of Walter and Louisa (Oldridge) Turpin and living in 4 Villiers Street, Hertford in 1901, with his uncle in 16 Elsinore Road, Forest Hill in 1911 and later in 79 Wood Lane, Shepherd’s Bush, London.


He was educated at Hertford Grammar School and became a bank clerk. He married Elizabeth Maude Evelyn Webb on 11 Jul 1914 in Fulham Register Office.

Wartime Service

Enlisted on 16 Apr 1915 at Hertford and entered France on 11 Aug 1915 and was killed in action.
