Pre War

Born on 13 Mar 1894 in Dover, Kent son of John and Emma Fensome. He was living in Mill Cottages, River, Dover in 1901. He was a sugar boiler.

Wartime Service

Joined the Navy on 21 Aug 1912. He served on the Euryalus from the beginning of WW1 throughout the Battle of Heligoland and then his ship moved to the eastern Mediterranean. Euryalus was the flagship of Rear Admiral Rosslyn Wemyss at the landing at Cape Helles, Gallipoli on 25 Apr 1915. He was killed in action, but the ship survived the war.

Additional Information

Probably brother of Private George Fensome who was taken prisoner and died in Germany on 15 May 1915. Unknown connection with Ware.
