Pre War

Born on 2 Sep 1885 in Pool, Yorkshire son of Charles Richard and Margaret (Middleton) Fenwick. Educated at Haileybury College. He went to the Murchison Goldfield, Western Australia in 1909.

Wartime Service

At the outbreak of the war, he volunteered and joined the Commonwealth Expeditionary Force leaving for the Dardanelles in Feb 1915. He was wounded in the counter-attack at Quinn’s Point on 30 May 1915 and was invalided out to Alexandria. He returned, promoted to Sergeant in Aug 1915, and was killed in action during the attack on Walker’s Ridge along with about 700 other men.
