Born 12 Jun 1887 in the Vicarage, Bayford, Herts. son of Robert Wellington Vidal, Vicar of St Mary’s Church, Bayford and Caroline Elizabeth (Andrewes) Vidal. He was baptised on 21 Jun 1887 in St Mary’s Church, Bayford. Educated at Malvern College and Brasenose College, Oxford. In 1911 he was a school master at St Peter’s School, Radley, Berks. Lived at Windrush, Foxcombe Hill, Berks.

Wartime Service

Commissioned in Sep 1914 and entered France in Mar 1915. He was involved in heavy fighting at Ypres in Apr and May 1915. He was killed near Givenchy by a shell while he was pushing forward with his section.
