Born on 16 Jan 1892 and baptised on 10 Apr 1892 in Dover, Kent son of Robert Henry and Annie Vigus. He was living in Westmill Road, Ware in 1901. He married Mabel Blanche Baker on 18 Feb 1915 in Croydon and was a newsagent living at 40 West Street, Croydon and had one daughter.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Croydon on 12 Dec 1915 formerly 30534, Middlesex Regiment, entered France on 20 May 1917 and died of gunshot wounds to the thigh and arm in 3rd Canadian Casualty Clearing Station in Lijssenthoek only three weeks later.
