Born in 1881 in Hertford son of Joseph and Ellen (Day) Fitzjohn and lived in 83b St Andrew’s Street, Hertford in 1891.

Enlisted at Hertford and was killed in action in the front line at Hill 60, near Ypres.

Brother of Private William Frederick Fitzjohn who was killed in action on 27 Sep 1918 and of Leading Seaman Eric George Fitzjohn who died in 1919 and who are also commemorated on these memorials.
