Pre War

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission suggests George was born in Alnwick, but the Soldiers Died in the Great War lists him as born Boston, Lincolnshire, son of G. W. and Mary Walker; husband of Louisa Walker, of 2, Station Rd., Soham, Ely - recorded there after George's death.

It is difficult to be sure, but is seems that George was a gardener and a boarder at 39 Commercial Road, Bedford in 1911.

Born at Alnwick. Lived at 2 Station Road, Soham, Ely, Cambridgeshire.

In August 1911, George married  Louisa Bradley at Brondesbury in London. They settled in Letchworth and had one son who was born in August 1913. They were Methodists and regularly attended church where they lived.

Enlisted in Hitchin
