Wartime Service

Alfred was enlisted as Gunner 3271 & 294266 in 144 York Heavy Battery Royal Garrison Artilllery. This Unit went to France on 18 Jun 1916. Alfred was wounded and died at 55 Casualty Clearing Station on 29 Dec 1918 in the Peronne area.
