Gordon's parents were William A and Elizabeth Franks. he was born on 16 January 1897 in Lemsford and went to St Johns school 25/11/1902 - 21/12/1910
In the 1901 Census, Gordon was 2, and living with his family in Pangbourn, St James. Gordon’s father, was a a manager of a coffee shop.
By 1911 the family have now moved and are living in Park Lane, Henlow, Bedfordshire. Father, William was now running a Laundry.
