Pre War

Thomas Frederick born in 1893 to Henry Penrice Frederick and Margaret (nee Beevor). Thomas’s Father was a Solicitor.

Wartime Service

He joined the Norfolk Regiment as a 2nd Lieutenant and went to the BEF on 30th Aug 1914.


He was awarded the Military cross in the Birthday Honours List on 3rd Jun 1916. (Listed as Captain.) He was hospitalised at Queen Alexandra’s Millbank from 10th July to 8th July 1916 with severe Haematoma to his back.


His Medal card ranks him as Major. He returned to Duty and Died of Wounds on 14th Dec 1917.

His father, Mr H P Frederick, of Burgh Hall, Great Yarmouth ordered his headstone inscription: “ELDEST SON OF HENRY P. FREDERICK OF BURGH HALL NEAR GT. YARMOUTH"
