Born in 1897 and lived at Chorleywood Cottage, Chorleywood, Hertfordshire. Educated at Felsted School, Essex (played cricket for the school) and at the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich.

Wartime Service

Killed in action by shell-fire shortly after laying the telephone communications for the Group for the attack on La Boiselle on the Somme.
