Pre War

Born on 8 May 1875 in Henley on Thames son of Edwin and Elizabeth Frend of Brighton, Sussex and later Standon House, Essex. Educated at Haileybury College 1889–93 and Trinity College Cambridge. He married Phyllis Mills of 71 Cheyne Court, Chelsea, London in Jul 1907 and had two children. Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 9 Nov 1898. Served in South Africa as Lieutenant and promoted to Captain on 21 Sep 1904.

Wartime Service

Killed in action at the Battle of the Aisne.
