Wartime Service

After being seriously wounded in the legs he was evacuated to the American General Hospital in Rouen. His right leg was amputated, but he died as a consequence of the operation.

Additional Information

David is also commemorated on the family headstone in Rickmansworth (Chorley Road) Cemetery. His part of the inscription reads:

ALSO OF REGINALD DAVID
ELDEST SON OF THE ABOVE [David Watson]
WHO DIED AT ROUEN, FRANCE APRIL 17TH 1918. AGED 24 YEARS
