Born in Finchley, London, registered in 1898 and the son of Henry and Mary Webster, of Lynsters, Rickmansworth, Herts. In the1911 census Hugh was reciorded as a pupil aged 13. His home address on his medals award was given as 115 Fox Street London.

Wartime Service

Originally Private 3878 in the Honable Artillery Company. He entered war service in France 10/10/1915.
