Pre War

Born in 1891 in Canterbury, Kent, son of Sydney William and Julia Hannah (Bates) Geering and baptised on 24 May 1891 in Canterbury. He was living in 21 North Road, Hertford in 1901. His father ran the family firm of Geering and Tregaskiss (Motors) in Hertford.


He married Elizabeth B. Miles in 1913 and had one son. They later lived with her mother Nurse Miles at 18 Currie Street, Hertford. He worked as Assistant Secretary to Saunderson & Mills of Bedford.

Wartime Service

Enlisted 11203 (and 270985) Private Hertfordshire Regiment and obtained a commission as 2nd Lieutenant London Regiment. He entered France on 26 Dec 1916 and died of wounds as a Prisoner of War.
