Pre War

Born on 2 Jun 1878 in Bideford, Devon son of Thomas T. and Dorothy S. K. Wickham. Took part in the Jameson Raid in 1895 and fought in Rhodesia in 1896. Fought in the South African war 1899-1902 in the South African Light Horse and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the Manchester Regiment in 1901 and made Lieutenant 1902. Served as Captain in the W.A.F.F 1904-12. Distinguished Service Order (1901). Educated at the United Services College 1890-92. He married Bertha Wesley Grieveson in 1905 in Darlington, Durham. They lived at Hawkes Settle, Marpool Hill, Exmouth, Devon.

Killed in action in Nigeria.

Additional Information

United Services College, Westward Ho, Devon amalgamated with Imperial Service College in Windsor in 1912 and then moved to Haileybury College, Hertford Heath in 1942.
