Pre War

Born on 12 Apr 1874 son of Henry Green. Educated at Haileybury 1887–91. Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant to the Essex Regiment from the militia on 2 Jun 1894. Made Lieutenant 14 Aug 1897, Captain in the Worcestershire Regiment on 20 Jun 1900 and then Major on 14 Feb 1912. Served in Sierra Leone in 1898, in the South African War 1899-1902 and in West Africa in 1906–07. He married Isabella Margaret Stewart, of Caryll Hurst, West Grinstead, Sussex and had one son.

Distinguished Service Order (1902), Mentioned in Dispatches (18 Feb 1901, 29 Jul 1902 and 2 Jul 1907).

Wartime Service

Killed in action in the Battle of the Aisne at Soupir.
