Pre War

Born on 25 May 1882 in Paddington, London son of Henry William Wilkinson and lived in 5 Amwell Street, Hoddesdon. He married Annie Maud Everett on 5 Aug 1912 in Bishop’s Stortford and they lived in 12 North Road, Hoddesdon. He worked with his father as a butcher.

Wartime Service

Enlisted on 5 Jun 1916 formerly 25545, 8th Northamptonshire Regiment, entered France on 28 Sep 1916 and transferred to the York and Lancaster Regiment on 14 Nov 1916. He was injured on 19 Jan 1917 but recovered and rejoined his regiment. He died in No 47 Casualty Clearing Station of wounds received at Ypres.
