Pre War

Henry was the son of Daniel and Alice Day living at Hanging Wood, Standon when he died, but Henry was born in St Marylebone London, where they were living in 1901.

In 1911 they are living still in St Marylebone, and Harry is described as a carpenter's assistant, anu ins father as a decorator.

His mother came from Bishop's Stortford, and father from Edinburgh. Henry's brother William is shown as born Bishop's Stortford, so presumably his parents moved to Standon after 1911.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Marylebone as a volunteer, and arrived in France February 1915 and was killed in March.
