Born on 14 Apr 1894 in Northampton son of John Bell and Kate (Clayson) Griffin. Educated at the Royal Masonic School 1902-10. He emigrated to Australia to be a bushman.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Blackboy Hill, Western Australia on 31 Aug 1914 and embarked at Alexandria for Gallipoli on 2 Mar 1915 arriving on 25 Apr at Anzac Cove. He went missing in action and was confirmed died on 25 Apr 1915 by a board of inquiry.
