Born in 1889 in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire son of Henry and Sarah Ann Gurdler and living in Church Lane, Mill End, Rickmansworth in 1911 as a labourer.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Watford formerly 6584, Bedfordshire Regiment M.M., entered France on 11 Nov 1914 and was killed in action.

Additional Information

Brother of Private William Gurdler who was killed in action on 28 Mar 1918 and of Private James Henry Gurdler who was killed in action on 4 Sep 1916 and of Private Horace Gurdler who died on 12 Nov 1918. All are commemorated on these memorials.
