Pre War

Born on 22 Dec 1860 son of Lt. Col. Samuel Beamish and Marianne Hamilton. Educated at the United Services College 1874-76 and King’s College, London (Engineering). Formerly King's Own Scottish Borderers. Took part in the Chin-Lushai expedition 1889-90 and in the Sudanese campaign 1896-98. Served as Controller of Embarkation, Southampton, in the Dardanelles and at Salonika and on Special Service in the Mediterranean, at home and in Canada. Received a flying certificate on 30 Jun 1913 at Larkhill, Salisbury Plain.

Wartime Service

Died in Moffat House nursing home in Weymouth.

Additional Information

United Services College, Westward Ho, Devon amalgamated with Imperial Service College in Windsor in 1912 and then moved to Haileybury College, Hertford Heath in 1942.
