Pre War

Born on 13 Aug 1877 in Knaresborough, Yorkshire son of Maj. George Ormonde Stoney (King's Own Scottish Borderers) and Mehlia Jessie (Sinclair Laing) Stoney. Educated at Haileybury College 1891-95. Served on the NW Frontier 1897-8.

Wartime Service

At the outbreak of the war the battalion was in Lucknow, India and returned to England in Dec 1914. Sailed from Avonmouth and landed in Cape Helles on 25 Apr 1915. Killed in action.
