Born on 16 Jan 1880 in Amoy, China son of the Rev. William Webster and Kate (Leyburn) Hawkins. Educated at Haileybury College 1894-97. Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 17 Mar 1900 from the militia, Lieutenant 3 Apr 1901. Served in South Africa 1901-2. Promoted to Captain 20 Mar 1909. He was unmarried.

Wartime Service

Promoted to Major on 30 Oct 1914. Entered France in Aug 1914 and was killed in action near Bethune.
