Born on 25 Nov 1898 in 6 Ashbrooke Terrace, Sunderland, Durham son of John Hunt Hedley and Margaret Eveline (Doxford) Hedley later of 1 Elms West, Sunderland. Educated at Haileybury 1912-17, Captain of XV (1916-17).

Wartime Service

Formerly Private 54621 Durham Light Infantry, he obtained a commission in the 4th Middlesex on 25 Sep 1917 and entered France on 8 Feb 1918 and was killed in action one month later near Ypres.
