Frederick Alfred Henson was born on 2 January 1881, the oldest child of Frederick and Harriet Henson, and baptised at Holy Trinity, Bishop's Stortford. When he was three months old the family were living at Wharf Road, Bishop's Stortford. By the 1901 Census he was living with his family in a cottage at New Town Road, Bishop's Stortford and working as a Grocer's Assistant. He married Margaret Tosney in Bishop's Stortford in 1904. They had two children, (Eva and Gertrude). The family emigrated to Canada in 1910 and were living in Canada at 636 Moody Avenue, North Vancouver in August 1915 and Frederick was working as a Grocer. He gave his religion as Roman Catholic.

Wartime Service

He enlisted at Vernon, British Columbia on 10 August 1915. He was killed in action in trenches near Avion and buried in a Canadian cemetery near Lens.
