Pre War

Reginald Kenneth Hibbs was born in 1892 in Moseley, Worcestershire, the son of Charles William and Ada Josephine Hibbs, and  educated at Streatham High School, London. 


He arrived in Australia when he was 18 and worked as a Clerk. He lived at Clovelly, Alma Road, Caulfield, Melbourne.


His parents later lived at 16 Lambert Road, Toorak, Melbourne. 

Wartime Service

He enlisted on 1 March 1915 as a 2nd Lieutenant with the 31st Battalion, 'D' Company.


His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT 62, Wandilla, on 9 November 1915. He saw service in Egypt and the western front and was promoted to Captain. He was killed in action on 26 September 1917 at Polygon Wood, Belgium.
