Born on 22 Sep 1872 in H.M. Prison, Winchester, son of Charles West Hill (late Capt. 69th Regt. and Prison Governor) and Elinor Jane Hill. Educated at Haileybury College 1886–89. Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 20 May 1893, Lieutenant 28 Nov 1895 and Captain 14 Mar 1903. Served in South Africa 1899-1901.

Wartime Service

Entered France on 13 Aug 1914 with the British Expeditionary Force and was killed in action.
