Pre War

Born on 10 Oct 1873 and baptised on 6 Dec 1873 in Aboo, Bombay, India son of Col. Francis Charles Hill (late 2nd Battalion. Essex Regt.) and Frances Dorman Hill later of "Glenariff", Hythe, Kent, England. Educated at the United Services College 1886-88. Went to California as a fruit farmer and then to Canada in 1906 and lived in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. He was a carpenter.

Wartime Service

Enlisted in Canada for the Overseas Expeditionary Force and declined a commission. Was reported missing, presumed dead at Langemark.

Additional Information

United Services College, Westward Ho, Devon amalgamated with Imperial Service College in Windsor in 1912 and then moved to Haileybury College, Hertford Heath in 1942.
