Born in 1898 in Redbourn Herts. son of Thomas and Kate (Wheeler) Hobbs of 6 Bankside, Redbourn Herts. He was a rubber worker.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Hertford on 27 May 1915 formerly Private 5012 Hertfordshire Regiment. Transferred to the Machine Gun Corps in May 1916 and embarked for Greece on 5 Jul 1916 arriving in Salonica on 14 Jul 1916. Died of dysentery in 28th General Hospital, Salonica.
