Born on 6 Jul 1874 in Cape Colony, South Africa son of Lt. Col. Joseph Hamilton and Letty Hodgson. Educated at Haileybury College 1888-90. Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 20 Feb 1895, Lieutenant 11 Mar 1898 and Captain 19 Nov 1904. Husband of Nancy Hodgson, of Kettlewell Hill, Woking, Surrey.

Wartime Service

Served on the Sudan Campaign, Battle of Khartoum. He entered the war with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force at Egypt. He was killed in action on the Gallipoli peninsula.
