Pre War

Robert Hoggans was born in Dailly, Aryshire in 1894 the son of Jane Hoggans.


On the 1901 Scotland Census he was listed at Glenhead Cottage, Kirkoswald, Ayrshire with his mother who was working as a farm servant, an older brother William and younger brother Hugh. 


At the time of his death his mother's address on pension records was given as Wester Bogie Cottages, Kircaldy, Scotland. 

Wartime Service

He enlisted in Cupar [Fife] and served with the 149th Reserve H.T. Coy, Army Service Corps. T2/018193, serving in France from 15 July 1915.


He died in Hertfordshire on 14 June 1918 and is buried in the Churchyard of St Peter and St Paul, Kimpton, Herts.


There is no obvious link to Kimpton other than he died in the area and was buried there.
