Born on 1 Oct 1886 in London son of George Henry and Mary Anne (Kirby) Hoste.


Educated at Haileybury College 1900-01. Worked in the Civil service in Somerset House. He was unmarried.

Wartime Service

Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 3 Jul 1915, entered France in Mar 1916 and was promoted to Lieutenant on 16 May 1916. Killed in action by a machine gun while leading his company during the advance from Le Sars to Les Boeufs.
