Born in Hormead Magna (believed became Great Hormead) in 1893, second son of Charles and Alice Hummerstone, of Dane Farm, Great Hormead, Buntingford, Herts. He was living there in 1911 and a carpenter's labourer. In enlisted in Hertford and recorded as a resident of Hormead Magna.

Wartime Service

He entered France on 30 Jul 1915.

Additional Information

Brother of Frederick, died 31 Jul 1917 and Walter Charles, died 18 Nov 1916, Hummerstone, also listed on this same memorial, the only three sons of Charles and Alice Hummerstone.
