Pre War

Frederick was the only son of Frederick William Ingrey and his wife Elizabeth (née Reeks) and was educated at the Council School there.


He was employed as a Tennis Racquet Stringer at the outbreak of war.


Wartime Service

Frederick joined the Royal Navy on the 1st of November 1915 and served at the Signal Station at Immingham, and on H.M.S. Dirk from November 1917.


He was lost when the Dirk was sunk by an enemy torpedo off Flamborough Head.
