Born on 18 Jun 1876 in Ashton, Cheshire son of Frederick James and Mary Anne (Davies) Jackson. Educated at Haileybury College 1890-95. After service in South Africa he lived in Rhodesia as a civil servant and returned to England on 17 Mar 1915. He married Janet Jordan Beattie (later Mrs Lindsay) of 5 South Learmouth Gardens, Edinburgh in Jun 1915 and they lived at 34 Rawlinson Road, Southport, Lancashire.

Wartime Service

He was gazetted on 8 Jun 1915 2nd Lieutenant Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, entered France on 26 Jul 1915 and died of wounds.

Military Cross (London Gazette 29 Dec 1916).
