Pre War

Albert Ernest Jordan was born in 1899 in Ballyshannon, Ireland to William and Mary Ann Jordan.  The family were living at the Coast Guard Station, Wembury, Knighton, Plymouth, Devon on the 1911 Census. His father later worked at the Coastguard Station at West Mersea, Essex and at the time of Albert's death, was living at 27 South Road, Bishop's Stortford.


Wartime Service

He served in the Mercantile Marine Reserve as an Ordinary Seaman on HMS Crescent.  He died from influenza pneumonia on 22 October 1918 on the Hospital Ship Garth Castle.
