Born in 1892 in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire son of George H and Eliza Kemp and was living in 7 West Hoe Cottages, Rye Road, Hoddesdon in 1901 and later in 104 Old Highway, Hoddesdon.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Tottenham, London, entered France on 27 Sep 1915 and was killed in action on the Somme during the Battle of Bazentin Ridge.
