Arthur William George Kingham was born in 1893 in Codicote, Herts, the son of William and Rose Annie Kingham, and baptised on 30 July 1893 at St Giles, Codicote. He was one of ten children, however four of them had died by 1911.
On the 1901 Census the family were living at New Street, Codicote and his father was working as a Bricklayer's Labourer. They remained in Codicote in 1911 and Arthur, then known as William, was working as a Motor Driver (Domestic).
He married Dora Gould on 14 December 1914 at Codicote and they had a son Arthur in 1915, 
Wartime Service
Arthur enlisted in Bedford and joined the Army Service Corps, serving in France from 26 July 1915.
He was killed in action on 18 August 1918 by enemy shell fire and is buried in Wood Cemetery, Marcelcave, France.
Additional Information
His widow received a war gratuity of £16.10s and pay owing of £32 2s 5d, £21 8s 2d of which was to be paid to their child Arthur. 
Dora later married Garnet Tuck in 1921 and lived at Great Snoring, Fakenham, Norfolk.
