Pre War

Born on 1 Dec 1873 son of Wilmot and Martha Lane of 3 Eaton Gardens, Hove, Brighton. Educated at Haileybury College 1888-91. Was managing a ranch in Rhodesia at the outbreak of War.

Wartime Service

Formerly served in the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. He accepted a Commission in the South African Forces with whom he served in German West Africa, and then in France. Killed in action at Cambrai.
