Enlisted at Hoddesdon, Herts. Formerly Hertfordshire Regiment, no. 2414. Served in France and Flanders. Killed in action.

Mother Rosina was given the back pay of £7 6s 3d, father Alfred part of the war gratuity of £10 1s, and the other part, £9 9s, was granted to Mary Thorogood.
